Why We Chose Maui for Our Babymoon
We hopped over to Maui from Honolulu for the second leg of our Hawaii babymoon, and it turned out to be the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. While Oahu gave us a vibrant city-meets-beach feel, Maui felt like a gentle exhale. We wanted to see the famous Road to Hana but didn’t want to cram it into a single day—so we decided to actually stay in Hana. Best decision ever.
Where We Stayed
We spent two nights at Hana-Maui Resort, tucked into the lush, quiet side of the island. It was peaceful, remote, and a true break from everything. No crowds, just ocean views and the sound of nature. The slow pace let us really unwind.
Afterward, we moved to Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Kaanapali for the next two nights. It was such a fun contrast! The resort was lively, full of amenities, and had stunning sunset views from the beach. I loved the ease of grabbing poolside snacks, walking along the beach path, and just soaking in the luxury resort vibe.
Babymoon Highlights
Road to Hana: We only drove one way (from Kahului to Hana), which made the trip less rushed. We stopped at waterfalls, fruit stands, and scenic overlooks. Taking our time made all the difference—and then we got to rest once we arrived instead of turning right around.
Hana Town: Just being in this part of Maui was a treat. We walked the beach near the hotel, enjoyed quiet breakfasts, and did absolutely nothing for hours.
Hyatt Regency pool time: Floating in the pool with a mocktail in hand while gazing at the ocean—pure bliss.
Dinner at Star Noodle: Our favorite dining experience! The Lahaina location had great vibes and the food was incredible. I still think about their noodles and steamed buns.
Tips for a Smooth Maui Babymoon
If you're doing the Road to Hana, stay in Hana! It turns a long, tiring drive into a relaxing adventure.
Bring bug spray and motion sickness bands for the drive.
Balance the remote stay (like Hana) with a resort stay (like Kaanapali) for the best of both worlds.
Book Star Noodle in advance—it's worth planning around.
Don’t over-plan. Maui is all about slow mornings, beach walks, and naps.

Final Reflections
Maui felt like the heart of our babymoon—a true escape into calm, natural beauty and luxurious comfort. Staying in both Hana and Kaanapali gave us time to breathe, reconnect, and prepare (emotionally and physically!) for what’s ahead.
If you’re dreaming of a babymoon that’s part adventure and part pampering, Maui is a perfect pick. Just remember to take it slow, stay hydrated, and eat the noodles.
